  4. Cancellations: all accommodation alterations or cancellations must be submitted in writing to the Conference Secretariat. Any cancellations are subject to the hotel re-selling the space.

Guidance on discounted late bookings

The Organisers have endeavoured to obtain the best rates possible on the basis of block bookings. However, it may be possible for individuals to obtain cheaper rates if bookings are made shortly before the Conference, either via agencies on the Internet or direct to a hotel. If you decide to make your own arrangements for accommodation, your request for rates for late bookings should be directed to the hotel of your choice and will be subject to availability.

Edinburgh

Edinburgh is an award-winning, world-class tourist destination - a must-see cultural capital. From stunning skylines to sandy beaches, festivals to fireworks – the city has something for everyone, day and night. Why not stay a little longer, beyond the Conference and see some more of the city and the area?

The city is a modern day Jekyll and Hyde. The city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site lying between two extinct volcanoes, Edinburgh also boasts an exceptional blend of contemporary pubs and bars, restaurants, specialist retailers and leading tourist attractions. The days (not during the Conference!) can be spent exploring the city’s medieval alleyways and architecture – not least the dramatic Edinburgh Castle perched above the city centre. Nights out in Edinburgh provide an opportunity to explore the bustling bars, clubs and lively street scenes.

In 2008 Edinburgh was named as one of the world's top ten cities by travel magazine Wanderlust. In addition, the 2008 Trip Advisor Destination Awards named Edinburgh as the top 10 destination in Europe and 27th in the world. Go on, take some time to enjoy Edinburgh! See map
