CPD Applied For. 10th International Paediatric Haematology
and Oncology Update Meeting

at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh
18th – 19th May 2006

As Chairman of the Organising Committee of this the Tenth in our Series of International Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Update Meetings, I would like to invite you to come and take part on May 18th and 19th 2006.

The combination of a series of state-of-the-art presentations on key topics in paediatric haematology and oncology by an internationally recognised faculty along with the appeal of Edinburgh in early summer, has led to this series of meetings becoming very well established. It has been a key forum for trainees and specialists of most of the disciplines involved in the management of children with cancer and blood disorders. Because of the success of previous meetings we have been able to attract first class speakers and a very loyal audience to come to share two days of clinical and scientific information plus, of course, enabling them to have the chance to informally network.

2006 will be our 10th Anniversary Meeting and we have, I think, an interesting programme for you. For the first time this year we are also calling for posters having incorporated the poster session within the programme. We hope that we can persuade nurses, doctors, pharmacists and indeed anybody who is in training particularly - but also anyone with a message they want to put across - to submit a poster which will enhance the meeting.

All full Registrants will receive a "IPHOUM 2006 Highlights" DVD after the Meeting, which will include the key points from our invited speakers and as many abstracts and snippets of presentations as we can manage! This we hope will make an excellent reference tool to enable participants to take some of the important material from this Conference back to their places of work.

The meeting once again will be in the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and our celebratory 10th Anniversary Gala Dinner will be held at the Assembly Rooms of Edinburgh nearby. This promises to be a special evening of excellent food and music.

If all of that weren’t enough to attract you, you have also got beautiful historic Edinburgh to tempt you. Our Meeting is on Thursday and Friday and then there is the weekend, so how could you possibly resist the invitation to come? I really do hope you will register to participate and hope that you will be thinking about submitting a poster. Early registration is an excellent idea.

Look forward to seeing you in Edinburgh

Tim Eden
Chairman of the Organising Committee

Call for Poster Abstracts Deadline is 31st March 2006
