Scientific Programme

The Scientific Programme will take place in the Auditorium of the Nine Kings Suite. It will be held at the following times:

Thursday April 3rd
8.30 – 1.00pm
Friday April 4th
8.30 – 6.00pm
Saturday April 5th
8.30 – 1.00pm

The General Assembly of EPOS will take place on Saturday April 5th at 7.45am. This will be followed by coffee with Poster Viewing and a session of Poster Presentations. The full programme for the scientific sessions is found on pages 23 - 57 Each oral presentation will be for 5 minutes with up to 3 minutes allowed for discussion. Papers will on occasions be grouped with following discussion. Time is limited and for good discussion speakers must keep accurately to time

Instruction to Speakers of Oral presentations

Single or Dual slide and Electronic Powerpoint projection will be available in all sessions of the meeting. The Slide and Presentation Preview Room will be in the Nine Kings Conference area.

Slide Projection

Carousels must be filled before the start of the session in which the presentation is made. Each oral presentation will be for 5 minutes with up to 3 minutes allowed for discussion. Papers may on occasions be grouped with following discussion.

Powerpoint Presentation

Electronic Powerpoint presentation will also be available for the scientific sessions. Speakers must hand in their presentations on a PC formatted CD or floppy disk to a member of the audiovisual staff in the session before their presentation at the very latest.
Time does not permit for speakers to use their own individual computers.
This means that Speakers for the first and second sessions on Thursday morning must hand in their CD’s or floppies at the time of the Welcome Reception on Wednesday evening, and before the end of the morning session on Thursday morning for the first session on Friday morning.
A member of the Audio-visual staff will be available in Slide and Presentation Preview Room throughout the Scientific Sessions and on Wednesday evening.
Failure to follow these instructions may result in a Speaker being unable to give their presentation.

Instructions for Poster Presentation

There will be a Poster Session with selected presentations on the morning of Saturday April 5th.
Poster viewing will be available during the meeting and also on Saturday morning during the Coffee Session from 9.45am to 10.15am after the EPOS General Assembly. The presentation of Selected Posters will follow from 10.15 to 11.00.
There will be a prize for the best Poster. The selection of Posters for presentation will be made by the EPOS Scientific Committee This will be followed by the last scientific session of the meeting. Posters will be positioned on Standard Format boards 110cm by 100cm. This area does not include the identification number of the poster. Velcro for mounting the posters will be available if required. This may be obtained from the Registration desk. Posters must be removed at the end of the final session. Neither the Conference, the Organisers, nor the Venue can be responsible for Posters which are left behind.

Registration

Registration will take place between the following times adjacent to the plenary sessions at the Royal Lancaster Hotel: The Registration Desk is situated in the Lobby of the Nine Kings Suite.

7.00am – 6.00pm
Friday 4th April
8.00am – 6.00pm
Saturday 5th April
8.00am – 12.30pm

At Registration you will be given a copy of the Conference Programme Book, a Feedback form (for you to fill out at you leisure), and an identification badge. For security reasons, please ensure that you are wearing your identification badge at all times when on-site at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in order to enter all Conference Sessions and Activities.

The Registration Fee includes participation in the Scientific Sessions, Poster viewing, entrance to the Exhibition, a copy of the Conference Programme and Abstract Book, lunch for Thursday and Friday, teas and coffees on each day, an invitation to the Welcome Reception, one place on the Conference Tour and VAT where applicable.
The Conference Gala Dinner must be pre-booked and is not included in the Registration Fee.
