The UK Continence Society 2009 Organising Committee is looking forward to welcoming you to Swansea for the 16th Annual Scientific Meeting. We have been busy planning the best possible meeting in this inspiring maritime city.
We invite all of our colleagues from within the field of Continence Care to join us for a thoughtful, challenging and fun few days of Conference. We are keen that you experience some of the best that Wales has to offer, so as well as some top quality speakers and excellent venues, we are delighted to have also secured some wonderful Welsh entertainment for our social programme.
This Conference will
be relevant
for:
- Paediatricians
- Gynaecologists
- Physiotherapists
- Urologists
- Urogynaecologists
- Colorectal Surgeons
- Geriatricians
- Continence Nurses
- Continence Advisors
- PCT Service Providers
- Scientists
Our programme theme is “Broadening Horizons”. As well as following the UKCS tradition of addressing core clinical and scientific issues, participants at this Conference will also hear key presentations from invited experts on other topics, including motivational psychology, partnership in healthcare, surgery for faecal incontinence, and computational mathematics in physiological research. We want to address those “Cinderella” topics which are rarely addressed and do not always fall within the mainstream of work in Continence Care. We hope that adding these topics to the programme will bring added value and broaden the appeal of the conference.
We know how important the social programme is to the UKCS Conference and we have organised two events in order to encourage the informal networking and relaxation which your previous feedback tells us is important. You will find details of the events set out here and we ask that you book your place at these events in advance.
UKCS 2009 is set to be a dynamic few days in Swansea and we encourage all
of our colleagues involved in the field of Continence
Care to begin planning their participation in this important event. The
Call for Abstracts closes on 15th February so if you can, please
maximise the educational opportunity that this Conference provides by also
submitting your material for presentation.
Full
details for submission are available here.
Finally, do remember to register early for the Conference in order to take
advantage of the lower Early
Registration Fee, which will be all important in these financially-challenging
times. The easiest way
to register (and obtain an invoice) is via the on-line
Registration system.
